Nigerian financial commentator Gehgeh has publicly called out content creator Mavo following reports that Mavo exposed musician Shallipopi's alleged financial difficulties. Reacting to the viral controversy surrounding an alleged leaked private conversation between the two, Gehgeh voiced strong disappointment, questioning Mavo's motives for making his friend's personal affairs public.
Calling the act a clear betrayal of trust, Gehgeh argued that close friends should protect each other rather than broadcast sensitive personal matters to the internet. "Mavo, you’re a bad person," Gehgeh stated during his reaction. "Shallipopi is like a brother to you; what would you gain from letting the streets know he’s broke?"
Despite the strong rebuke, Gehgeh appealed to Shallipopi to extend forgiveness to Mavo, pointing out that Mavo owes much of his own online success to the singer's influence and style. "Shallipopi, forgive Mavo; he doesn’t know it’s with your music pattern that he blew up," he remarked, emphasizing the role Shallipopi played in elevating Mavo's platform.
Closing his commentary with broader advice for men, Gehgeh cautioned against sharing personal financial troubles with people who might not be completely trustworthy. He warned that private conversations can easily be turned into public leverage, noting that exposing a friend's financial situation ultimately destroys the core foundation of brotherhood and trust.
