Waje and Shoday Release "My Sunshine" Soundtrack for Funke Akindele’s Upcoming Film 'The Four'

Award-winning vocal powerhouse Waje and fast-rising Afrobeats sensation Shoday have joined forces to release “My Sunshine,” the official soundtrack for Funke Akindele’s highly anticipated upcoming movie, The Four…no one fights alone!!. Released ahead of the film’s scheduled theatrical debut on December 11, 2026, the song offers a soulful tribute to the unconditional love, sacrifice, and unbreakable bond shared between a mother and her child.

In the film, Waje portrays Esosa, mother to Shoday’s character, Obaloluwa. Their onscreen dynamic serves as a central emotional anchor for the storyline, posing the poignant question: how far will a mother go to protect her child? “My Sunshine” mirrors that core thematic narrative through music, blending Waje’s acclaimed powerful vocals with Shoday’s distinctive Afro-fusion style—a breakout signature he established with his hit single “Caution.” The track is now available across all major music streaming platforms, accompanied by a music video hosted on the FAAN_TV YouTube channel.

Set against the dual backdrop of the Odu community and Lagos, The Four follows Esosa and three fiercely loyal women as they navigate a grueling struggle that tests their courage, faith, and unity. The overarching theme of female solidarity and maternal resilience reinforces the movie’s central mantra: "no one fights alone."
