Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has drawn widespread criticism on social media after a 12-minute audio conversation with a TikTok fan, Bisgold, leaked online. Released by popular blogger Mama Esabod, the recording captures a conversation conducted primarily in Yoruba and Pidgin English, focusing on comments made about several of Abraham’s colleagues in the movie industry.
In the recording, Bisgold is heard repeatedly hurling insults at fellow box-office powerhouse Funke Akindele, while Abraham reportedly listens and laughs rather than checking or cautioning the fan. The conversation also turned to Iyabo Ojo, with the TikTok user claiming that Ojo had been unable to move past a previous disagreement. Abraham allegedly laughed in response, agreeing with the assessment that her colleague had not moved on from the incident.
Beyond Akindele and Ojo, the leaked discussion featured mentions of other industry figures, including actors Itele and Kemity. Abraham reportedly claimed that some individuals posing as her supporters actually use fake accounts to attack others online, while specifically referring to Kemity as someone she views as a daughter.
The release of the audio has ignited fierce reactions and criticism across various social media platforms, with many users questioning Abraham's judgment and her boundaries when interacting with fans. Commenters heavily faulted the actress for getting too comfortable with admirers and failing to defend her colleagues against derogatory remarks.
"Toyin no just get sense olohun. See how you’re comfortable with a FAN. Gosshhhh," wrote one user, WhoKnowsyezt, reflecting the frustration of critics. Another user, Fifi Efretuei, added: "Not a fan of either of them but seems this lady can’t learn a simple lesson of setting boundaries. She talks too much."
As the controversy continues to trend online, the incident has reignited ongoing debates among fans regarding professionalism, loyalty, and personal boundaries within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
