Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has shut down an online critic who questioned her decision to call herself an "African Baddie" at her age, delivering a confident response that doubled as an announcement for her upcoming music release.
The exchange began when a social media user took a swipe at the award-winning artist, questioning why a woman in her 40s would still identify with the term. Mocking the singer, the user posted, “African baddie at 40… this one no serious.”
Unbothered by the age-shaming attempt, Tiwa Savage clapped back directly, proudly setting the record straight about her age while highlighting her beauty, financial independence, and booming career. The singer revealed that she is actually 46 years old and dismissed the critic's attempt to belittle her choice of name.
"46, fine, paid, unbothered and dropping my super hottttt record ‘African Baddie’ on Friday. What exactly is the problem, boy?😂 #AfricanBaddie," she wrote.
The fiery response served a dual purpose, silencing the critic while generating buzz for her new project, "African Baddie," scheduled for release this Friday.
In a separate update, the singer also made headlines following a recent livestream appearance with popular TikTok personalities Peller and Jarvis, who asked her to be the godmother to their unborn child. Demonstrating her spiritual approach to major commitments, Tiwa Savage responded that she would first need to pray and seek God's guidance before taking on such an important responsibility.
