Tiwa Savage Accepts Teni’s Celebrity Boxing Match Challenge

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has accepted a playful boxing match challenge issued by fellow hitmaker Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni. The unexpected showdown announcement has set social media abuzz as fans react to the prospect of two of Nigeria's biggest female music icons stepping into the ring together.

The exchange began when Teni posted a energetic video to her Instagram page directly tagging the "Water & Garri" crooner. In the caption, Teni humorously laid out her terms and strategy, writing: “Mama!!! Make we fight @tiwasavage. 3 billion later, I go apologise for outside the boxing ring.”

It did not take long for Tiwa Savage to respond. Shortly after the video was posted, the award-winning singer accepted the invitation with a brief but direct reply in her caption: “Pick a date.”

The playful back-and-forth comes amid a rising wave of celebrity boxing matches in Nigeria's entertainment scene. Just days before Teni's post, former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna defeated Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing in a highly publicized ring match that captured widespread online attention.
