Nigerian singer T.I Blaze has publicly called out prominent music executive Dapper Music, alleging that roughly ₦1.2 billion in artist royalties and intellectual property revenue remains unaccounted for. Taking to his official X account, the artist raised severe questions regarding the handling of music catalogues, revenue splits, and licensing deals managed by the label executive.
In his online statement, T.I Blaze demanded immediate transparency regarding how third-party entities, specifically Virgin Music, were brought into existing business arrangements. He questioned how revenue shares were being distributed and challenged Dapper Music to provide a clear accounting for the missing funds, asking directly how such a massive sum could go unexplained.
Beyond the financial discrepancies, the singer accused Dapper Music of licensing artists' intellectual property without prior mutual agreement or consent. Expressing frustration over what he described as corporate greed and betrayal, T.I Blaze warned that failing to honor those who built the business's success would ultimately lead to the label's downfall.
The serious allegations have sparked widespread discussion within the Nigerian music industry regarding transparency, artist royalty distribution, and catalog management. As public interest mounts, neither Dapper Music nor Virgin Music has formally issued a response to the singer's claims.
