Controversial Nigerian musician Speed Darlington, also known as "Akpi," has reignited his feud with Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy by publicly threatening to physically attack him during their next encounter.
Speaking in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Speed Darlington made it clear that there is no love lost between the two artists. He stated unequivocally that he has zero relationship with the "Last Last" singer and promised to take immediate action the moment they find themselves in the same space.
“Me and Burna Boy have no relationship. If Burna Boy enters any room that I am present in, I will fight and jump on him,” Speed Darlington warned during the broadcast.
Beyond a spontaneous confrontation, the social media personality also expressed an interest in taking their conflict to a formal stage. Speed Darlington revealed that he wants to face Burna Boy in a sanctioned celebrity boxing match following his upcoming fight against comedian and content creator Carter Efe. He noted, “If I win the forthcoming boxing match between me and Carter Efe, I hope Burna Boy will be next.”
The rivalry between the two musicians stems from a contentious public fallout that eventually led to legal consequences. Speed Darlington sparked outrage after making defamatory allegations online, suggesting that Burna Boy had an illicit affair with embattled American hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs to secure his Grammy award win.
Following those public allegations, Speed Darlington was arrested, charged with defamation, and remanded in prison before eventually being granted bail. The legal battle between both parties remains active in court. Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Akpi's latest radio appearance signals that the tension between the two Nigerian entertainers is far from over.
