The four-year working relationship between controversial singer Speed Darlington and his aide, Goskey, has officially come to an end following explosive allegations of financial exploitation. Goskey announced his resignation in a video circulating online on Friday, revealing that he walked away after receiving a meager ₦250,000 share from a reported ₦30 million payday tied to the singer's high-profile boxing match with Carter Efe.
In the viral video, Goskey officially severed ties with the entertainer and urged the public and business associates to stop contacting him regarding bookings or any other matters involving Speed Darlington. According to the former aide, the ₦250,000 payout was deeply insulting and fell drastically short of fair compensation, particularly considering his relentless efforts in connecting the singer with lucrative clients, influencers, and high-level contacts.
"Not even one million," Goskey stated, highlighting the stark contrast between the massive revenue generated and his actual take-home pay. He added that while Speed Darlington had initially promised him a six percent commission on every completed gig, the singer later reneged on the agreement, arguing that the absence of a formal written contract meant no such percentage was owed.
Beyond the disputed payout, Goskey detailed a history of personal financial sacrifice and mistreatment during his four years of service. He revealed that he routinely dipped into his own pockets to support the singer, which included funding multiple trips to Abuja when Speed Darlington faced arrest, as well as paying out of pocket for local transportation while coordinating flights for both the singer and his assistant.
Goskey further claimed that the toxic dynamic stemmed from Speed Darlington's desire for an assistant he could easily intimidate rather than a competent partner who contributed valuable content and generated business opportunities. Questioning whether operating without a formal contract justified treating him "like trash," Goskey declared that he has permanently closed the chapter on working with the singer.
