Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Abdulgafar Ahmad, widely known as The Cute Abiola, has called out President Bola Tinubu over the country's persistent electricity challenges, revealing that even his backup solar power system has shut down.
In a video circulating online, the skit maker expressed intense frustration over the widespread power outages and the economic hardships facing everyday citizens. Sweating through the blackout, he made an impassioned plea directly to the President for immediate intervention.
“President Tinubu, my solar is off. Please, for God’s sake, help us. My solar is off right now. Please, everywhere is hot. The suffering is too much. Please, there’s no light. Abeg,” he lamented in the viral clip.
The Cute Abiola did not stop at complaining about the blackout; he also took a jab at the current administration's political priorities. He criticized what he described as the government’s intense focus on President Tinubu’s re-election prospects while ordinary Nigerians continue to endure severe infrastructure failures and rising living costs.
Concluding his post on a lighter yet sharp note, the comedian mocked the popular narrative that solar energy is a foolproof solution to Nigeria's power woes. Sardonically highlighting the limits of renewable backups, he quipped: “Buy solar, buy solar. Solar sef Dey off.”
