Nigerian music sensation Crown Uzama, widely known as Shallipopi, has taken to social media to level severe allegations against music executive Dapper Music, claiming the executive is withholding royalty income from dozens of his tracks and secretly sold off his music catalog. Breaking his silence on X, the "E Don Cast" singer voiced his frustration over an escalating financial dispute regarding his music inventory, alleging that earnings from 46 of his released songs remain uncollected due to Dapper's management of the funds.
Detailing the nature of the dispute, Shallipopi alleged that Dapper brokered deals involving several artists' catalogs with Virgin Music, collecting substantial payouts without providing transparent accounting to the creators involved. The hitmaker went on to claim that his own music catalog had been sold without proper disclosure, accusing the executive of using manipulative tactics to control young talent coming up from the street level. In a direct warning, the singer stated he is prepared to file an official petition with Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to hold the executive accountable.
The singer further revealed that the dispute has already drawn law enforcement interest, claiming Dapper previously provided misleading information to the EFCC regarding his business dealings. Suggesting that other musicians under the executive's roster have faced similar financial discrepancies, Shallipopi expressed relief at having navigated the contractual web before his career suffered further set-backs, while calling on the executive to immediately relinquish all withheld funds.
