American rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs reportedly sustained a head injury following a physical altercation with Jamaican drug lord Christopher "Dudus" Coke at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
According to sources cited by TMZ, the confrontation erupted after Coke and other inmates grew furious over an NBC News report that exposed Combs' alleged luxurious lifestyle behind bars. The investigative report prompted a swift crackdown by prison officials, resulting in unexpected raids that stripped inmates of illicit mobile phones and disrupted the underground privileges they had previously enjoyed.
The sudden loss of contraband and tightened restrictions directed intense resentment toward Combs, whom inmates blamed for drawing unwanted media attention to the facility. Tensions ultimately boiled over into a physical brawl between Combs and Coke, leaving the music mogul with a head injury severe enough to warrant outside medical intervention. Prison officials subsequently transported Combs away from the facility via ambulance for proper hospital treatment.
While Combs remains the most high-profile inmate at the federal prison, Coke holds significant influence within the facility's population. Coke, who has been serving a 23-year sentence since 2012, was reportedly among the most vocal opponents of the disruptions caused by the media exposure.
In the aftermath of the fight, both men faced immediate disciplinary consequences. Prison authorities placed Combs and Coke into the Special Housing Unit (SHU) for a two-week stint in disciplinary isolation.
