American music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was taken to a hospital on Saturday, October 10, after suffering a head injury at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, where he is currently serving a federal prison sentence. According to initial reports from TMZ, the 56-year-old was conscious and speaking prior to receiving medical attention, and his injury has been described as non-life-threatening.
While the exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not been made public, Diddy’s legal and media team stated that they are actively investigating the situation. A representative told the Los Angeles Times that their primary focus remains on his immediate recovery, adding, "We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances. Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out." Officials at the Fort Dix facility have so far declined to comment on the medical transfer.
The reported hospitalization comes during a period of intense public and media scrutiny regarding Combs’s conditions behind bars. Recent reports from NBC News, cited by the Los Angeles Times, included claims from fellow inmates alleging that the producer was receiving special treatment—including paying other prisoners for domestic chores, as well as possessing a contraband mobile phone and unauthorized alcohol.
Combs’s representative strongly rejected these claims, dismissing the media focus as sensationalism. "The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news," the spokesperson stated, emphasizing that "the only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal."
In addition to the medical update, records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons indicate a minor adjustment to Combs’s sentence timeline. His projected release date has reportedly been moved from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal sentence following his July 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. While a jury acquitted him of additional racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges after a widely publicized trial in New York, his legal team has formally appealed both the conviction and the length of his sentence, with a decision still pending.
