Popular Nigerian businesswoman and entrepreneur, Bo Hairs, has shared a harrowing account of how armed robbers invaded her residence at gunpoint in December last year, making away with cash, gold, luxury watches, and other valuable items.
The incident unfolded while she was asleep in her room. According to her, she woke up to the frightening sight of one of the intruders standing behind her nanny, who had forced his way into the bedroom. The gunman immediately informed her that the entire house had been surrounded by his gang, demanding that she surrender all foreign currency, dollars, and gold in her possession.
Faced with explicit threats against her life and the safety of her young son, Bo Hairs had no choice but to comply with the attackers' demands. She eventually handed over approximately $7,000 in cash, nearly ₦2 million, along with expensive gold jewelry, luxury goods, and other personal property. Before leaving, the robbers also discovered and confiscated two Rolex watches belonging to her and her husband.
Despite the loss of significant wealth, the businesswoman revealed that the entire ordeal lasted less than 10 minutes. She emphasized that her sole priority throughout the tense encounter was ensuring her child's survival and protecting him from any physical harm.
Reflecting on the traumatic event, Bo Hairs raised serious suspicions regarding her nanny’s behavior during the break-in. She noted that the nanny seemed to possess prior knowledge or an unusual understanding of the armed men's movements. Leaving her deeply shaken, the traumatic incident underscored the persistent security challenges facing residents and highlighted her primary relief in keeping her family safe.
