Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has strongly criticized social media users for judging fashion entrepreneur Evelyn Cute following her recent reported disappearance. The actress expressed frustration that many online commentators seemed more eager to consume tragedy than to show genuine concern for the founder of 44 Clothing, whose real name is Onyema Evelyn.
Evelyn was reportedly found safe after sparking widespread concern over her whereabouts, prompting reactions from friends and fans alike. Weighing in on the situation, Nkechi pointed out how intense personal struggles can sometimes be driven by intense emotions, sharing a candid reflection on the lengths people go to for love.
“The closest thing to madness na love. If I tell Una wetin I don do because of love, una go gather hand beat me,” Nkechi wrote on social media, as she publicly urged Nigerians to cut Evelyn some slack rather than rush to judgment.
The actress noted that a noticeable segment of social internet culture appeared disappointed that the story ended safely, suggesting that negativity often garners more enthusiasm than good news.
Despite her stern defense of the fashion entrepreneur, Nkechi also expressed relief over her safe return while adding a characteristically humorous and fiery warning.
“@evelyncute thank God you are safe, but I go still beat craze comot your head if I see you sha,” she posted.
Concluding her thoughts, Nkechi pulled back the curtain on how stressful the ordeal had been for those close to the entrepreneur, admitting that the uncertainty took a heavy emotional toll. “No be small panic attack you give me,” she added.
