Popular Nigerian actress and media personality Nancy Isime has officially announced a major milestone in her career as she prepares to step behind the camera for her debut project as an executive producer. The multi-talented entertainer shared the news with her fans through a video posted on her Instagram page, expressing a blend of excitement and raw vulnerability about embarking on this new chapter in Nollywood.
Reflecting on her growth within the entertainment industry, Isime admitted that taking on the high-stakes role of an executive producer comes with its share of pressure. “This is my first production as executive producer. I can’t lie, I am nervous and wondering if I am ready, but I think it’s about time; I have also tried,” she shared, acknowledging that after years of bringing various scriptwriters' and directors' visions to life, the time felt right to spearhead her own project.
The move represents a deeply personal transition for the actress, who built her reputation by portraying complex, memorable characters across television and feature films. Explaining the motivation behind her production debut, Isime revealed a desire to take ownership of the narrative process from concept to screen. “I've spent years telling other people's stories. Now, I'm stepping behind the camera to tell one of my own,” she noted.
In addition to producing the film, Isime promised to bring her followers along for an unvarnished look at the filmmaking process. Rather than simply presenting the finished product, she intends to share the day-to-day realities of film production—from high-stakes board meetings and creative decisions to the inevitable challenges that arise on set. “And I want you to come along for the entire journey - the meetings, the madness, the outfits, the decisions, the wins, the things that don't quite go as planned... everything,” she added.
Nancy Isime first entered the spotlight as a model before making her screen acting debut in the 2011 television series Echoes. Over the years, she has established herself as one of Nollywood’s most versatile lead actresses and TV hosts, and this latest venture as an executive producer marks another significant expansion of her career footprint.
