Nigerian music star Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has shared a poignant reflection on his career, revealing that his biggest life regret is that his late mother never witnessed him perform live on stage. Speaking during an episode of the Brut Podcast, the singer opened up about his mother's reserved nature and the missed opportunities to share his live performances with her before her passing.
Mr Eazi explained that his mother lived a very conservative lifestyle and strongly disliked traveling, even for short distances such as trips between Lagos and Accra. Because his music career took off internationally, requiring constant worldwide travel for tours and concerts, her reluctance to travel made it difficult to bring her along to his shows.
Despite never attending his live concerts, his mother remained a strong pillar behind his career. "My only regret in life is that my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away," the singer shared. He emphasized that while she couldn't be there in person, she consistently supported his musical journey through her prayers as his career continued to scale global heights.
The singer also reflected on his father's involvement in his music career, noting that his dad has only watched him perform live once, back in 2017, several years after he had achieved mainstream stardom. Even with few live appearances, Mr Eazi noted that his father remains exceptionally supportive, frequently calling to congratulate him whenever he drops a new song or project.
The emotional reflection comes following the loss of his mother, Pastor (Mrs.) Ifeoma Edith Ajibade, a former banker turned minister, who passed away on March 6, 2025.
