Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu has revealed that EbonyLife Place London will officially open its doors in October 2026, creating the United Kingdom's very first cinema exclusively dedicated to African and Black cinema. The landmark development marks a major international expansion for Abudu’s brand, transforming a property acquired in March 2025 into a multi-faceted entertainment complex and cultural beacon in the heart of London.
In a video update documenting the building's overhaul, Abudu showcased the dramatic evolution from its initial bare state into a polished, vintage-inspired entertainment destination. The centerpiece of the new location is the Amani Auditorium, a stylishly designed screening room built specifically to champion stories, filmmakers, and talent across the global Black diaspora.
Beyond its flagship cinema, the venue is envisioned as a holistic lifestyle hub celebrating broader African creative industries, including fashion, culinary arts, music, and visual art. Visitors will have access to a carefully curated suite of hospitality and cultural spaces, including The Afrobeat Restaurant, Fèhintì Lounge, Maji Concession & Bar, Zuri Retail, and The Living Wall Gallery.
This London venture mirrors the successful model of the original EbonyLife Place in Lagos, which established itself as a premier destination by blending luxury cinema with high-end hospitality. As the founder of EbonyLife Media continues her push to amplify African narratives on the global stage, EbonyLife Place London is set to serve as a vital home for African storytelling and cultural exchange in Europe.
