Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has achieved a major milestone at the ongoing Miss World competition in Vietnam, clinching the prestigious Top Model for Africa title. Competing at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII under the theme "Soul of Heritage," the Nigerian representative stood out among top contenders from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya, and South Africa to claim the continental honor. According to pageant organizers, this crucial victory automatically secures her a coveted spot in the Top 40 quarterfinals of the global contest.
Karibi-George now joins an elite group of continental Top Model winners, including representatives from the Dominican Republic (Americas and Caribbean), France (Europe), and host nation Vietnam (Asia and Oceania). Her impressive fast-track victory adds momentum to her strong run at the 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival, which kicked off in Vietnam on August 9 and will culminate in the highly anticipated grand finale on September 5.
The 26-year-old communications professional from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been captivating both judges and global pageant enthusiasts throughout the festival. Beyond her runway prowess, Karibi-George recently sparked widespread admiration online after a video showcasing her powerful singing talent during the preliminary events went viral. Her run follows an impressive showing in the Head to Head Challenge, where she finished as one of Africa’s top finalists alongside eventual continental winner Romanda Hombir of South Africa.
Since being crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, Karibi-George has used her platform to champion her "Beyond Labels" initiative, advocating for inclusion and better opportunities for children living with disabilities and special needs. As the pageant enters its final stretch, Nigerians nationwide continue to rally behind her, celebrating the grace, versatility, and elegance she brings to the global stage.
