Mavo Pulls Out of Afro Nation Portugal Over Visa Issues

Afro Nation Portugal organizers have announced that Nigerian singer Mavo will no longer perform at the festival due to unforeseen visa complications.

In a statement released ahead of the scheduled performance, the festival confirmed that the cancellation was the result of "unforeseen visa circumstances," preventing the fast-rising artist from making the trip to Portugal. The announcement came as disappointing news for fans who had been looking forward to seeing Mavo take the stage at one of the world's biggest Afrobeats festivals. 

While organizers did not provide further details about the visa setback, they expressed regret over the situation and thanked fans for their understanding.

Mavo has been gaining momentum in the Afrobeats scene with a growing catalogue of hits and energetic live performances, making his inclusion on this year's Afro Nation lineup one of the anticipated appearances for many festivalgoers.

Despite the setback, Afro Nation Portugal continues with performances from some of Africa's biggest stars and international acts, as thousands of music lovers gather for another celebration of Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall, and global Black music culture. Neither Mavo nor his management has announced whether the missed performance will be rescheduled or if he will join future editions of the festival.
