Leading Nigerian record label Mavin Records has issued an official public disclaimer disassociating itself from talent manager Lotanna Harry. The entertainment giant warned the public and industry partners against dealing with Harry, alleging that he has been illegally utilizing the company’s logo and falsely presenting himself as an authorized representative of the label.
In a formal statement released by its Legal Affairs department, Mavin clarified that Harry has never been an employee, agent, or representative of the organization. The company specified that its sole prior involvement with Harry was strictly limited to a third-party arrangement where he was contracted as a paid video model for select project shoots.
"The Company hereby confirms that Lotanna Harry... has never at any time been appointed, engaged, authorized or mandated by the Company to act as its agent, representative, intermediary or authorized person in any capacity whatsoever," the statement read. The label stressed that any transactions, communications, or negotiations conducted by Harry under the guise of representing Mavin are completely unauthorized and carry no legal liability for the firm.
Mavin cautioned partners, artists, and members of the public that engaging with Harry under the impression of a Mavin affiliation is done entirely at their own risk. To safeguard its brand, clients, and roster of talent, the record label noted that it reserves the full right to pursue legal action against Harry or anyone involved in the unauthorized use of its registered name and business assets.
Addressing the disclaimer, Lotanna Harry characterized the entire situation as a misunderstanding. Harry clarified that he has never claimed to be a Mavin employee or part of their internal management staff, explaining that his primary work is centered around operating the Record Label Access Network (RLAN)—an independent platform connecting artists, labels, and music professionals.
According to Harry, Mavin Records is simply one of several prominent music entities listed and promoted on the RLAN platform to facilitate visibility across the industry. He emphasized that feature placement on the network is designed strictly for broad industry access and does not constitute a formal employment relationship or official endorsement by the label.
