Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, widely known as Kizz Daniel, has opened up to fans about the painful personal reason behind his recent break from the music scene.
Clarifying his absence in a response to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, the Buga crooner revealed that his decision to pause music was driven by grief following the loss of his mother earlier this year, rather than time spent in the studio.
The explanation came after an X user, @VicroyDominion1, speculated that the hitmaker was simply layed low because he was busy working on a new album project.
Setting the record straight, Kizz Daniel corrected the fan and shared a poignant message about prioritizing his family during such a challenging time.
“It’s a life sentence for me... I paused for my Mom, not an album,” the singer wrote. “Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family… sorry I came late this year.”
The tragic loss adds to a difficult period of bereavement for the singer's family, following his earlier revelation that his wife had also lost her mother. Despite the heartbreak, Kizz Daniel expressed his determination to press forward for the sake of his loved ones while apologizing to his fans for the delayed music releases.
