Nigerian musician Ruger has publicly responded after a female TikTok user faced backlash for stating in a viral video that the singer needed to die to improve her mental health. The creator sparked the feud after sharply criticizing one of Ruger's recent tracks, condemning its lyrics as "misogynistic and homophobic" before expressing her controversial death wish in Pidgin English.
Refusing to let the extreme comment slide, the singer reshared the clip on his official X account to address the threat directly. Ruger rejected her harsh words and argued that being on the receiving end of a public death wish gave him a free pass to defend himself without holding back.
Addressing his followers online, Ruger brushed off potential criticism from advocacy groups regarding his retaliatory comments. He jabbed at the TikToker's appearance, claiming she had bigger issues to worry about than his music, including her personal habits and health, before sarcastically offering preemptive apologies to feminists and body positivity activists.
