Nigerian chef and entrepreneur Hilda Baci has added another remarkable milestone to her journey after being officially recognized as a Guinness World Records ICON.
The recognition celebrates individuals whose record-breaking achievements have left a lasting impact beyond the record itself. According to Guinness World Records, Hilda's influence extended far beyond her historic cook-a-thon, inspiring thousands of people across Nigeria and beyond to pursue ambitious record attempts and proving that determination can spark a global movement.
Hilda first captured international attention in 2023 when she set the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, completing an astonishing 93 hours and 11 minutes. Although the endurance record has since been surpassed, her achievement ignited what Guinness World Records described as an unprecedented wave of applications from Nigeria, with more than 1,500 record submissions arriving within just two months of her attempt.
Since then, the chef has continued to expand her legacy. In 2025, she partnered with Gino Nigeria to prepare the world's largest serving of jollof rice, earning another Guinness World Records title. Earlier this year, she also confirmed that she had become a three-time Guinness World Records holder after an additional title was officially recognized.
In its feature announcing the honour, Guinness World Records praised Hilda's consistency, ambition and cultural impact, highlighting how her journey has inspired countless people to dream bigger while championing Nigerian cuisine on the global stage. The organization also spotlighted her vision of expanding her culinary brand internationally and continuing to represent Nigerian food around the world.
The Guinness World Records ICON recognition places Hilda Baci among a select group of individuals whose achievements have transcended record books, cementing her status as one of Nigeria's most influential cultural ambassadors.
