Record-breaking filmmaker, actress, and producer Funke Akindele has officially unveiled her next major feature film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, scheduled to hit cinemas globally on December 11, 2026. Produced under the Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV) and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the project represents the next big milestone for one of Africa's most commercially successful cinematic storytellers, whose previous blockbusters have consistently broken box-office records across the continent.
The upcoming release is described as a deeply emotional drama that honors the strength of ordinary women, exploring themes of friendship, motherhood, and resilience. Set against the contrasting backdrops of the picturesque Odu Community and a bustling urban landscape, the narrative centers on a central character named Esosa and three fiercely loyal women. Together, the group embarks on a high-stakes journey to protect the future of a young man they love, testing their courage, faith, and unity along the way.
Akindele has assembled a powerhouse ensemble cast for the project, featuring a mix of Nollywood veterans, music stars, and popular media personalities. Alongside Akindele, the film stars Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan, and Wunmi Toriola. The production also features vocal powerhouse Waje and Afrobeats artist Shoday, as well as entertainment personalities Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho, and Ayomide Iwasokun.
Reflecting on the project, Akindele—who serves as the writer, director, and producer—noted that audiences have come to expect stories that both entertain and offer a reflection of real life. She shared that The Four dives into the transformative relationships that shape and challenge everyday people, expressing confidence that viewers will deeply connect with the character journeys when the film debuts exclusively in theaters this December.
