Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as KieKie, has offered relationship advice to women, encouraging them to embrace "softness" and allow their male partners to take charge and pamper them. In a video shared with her followers, the entertainer urged women to adopt a more gentle approach, pick their battles wisely, and let themselves be treated like princesses instead of trying to carry every burden alone.
KieKie questioned why many women feel compelled to take on responsibilities that could easily be left to their partners, using holiday preparations as a prime example. She challenged women to reflect on their day-to-day attitudes, observing that taking on too much can strip away the ease and softness that should exist in a partnership.
“Some of you are only women on your birth certificates," KieKie said in the video. "In your day-to-day lifestyle, attitude, and behaviour, you are not a woman. You are in the house with your man. Learn how to be soft. Learn how to wait. Learn how to be gentle. It's Christmas time, and your man is available, yet you have pinned Ram. Why? Why are you the one who has pinned the ram?”
To help women tap into this softer side, the creator advocated for what she called activating a "puppy face" to invite affection and generosity from their partners. She explained that men naturally respond to gentleness, but women must first allow themselves to be soft for that dynamic to work effectively.
“You know, babies have what we call puppy face," she noted. "Women, puppy face works for men. But you have to be soft for you to be able to activate your puppy face.”
Addressing the popular social media discourse around modern dating expectations, KieKie also challenged women who frequently demand "intentional" partners to inspect their own conduct first. She urged them to evaluate whether they bring the same intentionality into their relationships, encouraging them to be "intentionally soft" rather than hardened in their interactions.
The content creator explained that her counsel stems from her own positive relationship experiences and a desire to offer women a refreshing alternative to the predominantly negative relationship advice that circulates online.
