Nigerian DJ, producer, and businesswoman Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed the reason behind her gradual shift away from the color pink—a shade that served as the core anchor of her personal brand and public image for nearly two decades.
Speaking in an interview for GQ Poland's November 2026 edition, the music star addressed the widespread curiosity from fans and observers who noticed the evolution in her signature aesthetic. She explained that while pink initially served as a deliberate tool to assert and express her femininity within the male-dominated music industry, personal and professional growth meant refusing to be restricted by a single label or visual identity.
"I was known for the colour pink and it was my identity for so many years, and a lot of people are asking what happened to the pink," Cuppy shared in a video clip from the feature on X. "I don't think I should be boxed into a colour."
The London-based artist emphasized that moving past her trademark color does not mean abandoning her feminine style. Instead, it marks a new chapter where she feels empowered to express herself across any hue or creative direction without being tied to a single visual gimmick.
