Prominent music executive DapperDam has pushed back against allegations leveled against him by Nigerian artists Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi, and T.I Blaze regarding contractual disputes and unpaid earnings. Addressing the controversy in a series of posts on his official X handle on Saturday, August 15, 2026, the record label boss dismissed the accusations as false narratives, insisting that official financial records and legal documentation will clear his name.
Refusing to trade insults with his former signees, DapperDam emphasized his respect for the music industry while maintaining that he has nothing to hide from the public or legal authorities. He urged the artists to move on rather than airing grievances online, reminding them that their professional relationships began as early as 2021 when he invested his own capital to fund their debut projects before receiving any music in return.
Directly addressing Shallipopi, whom he referred to as "Mr. Elon," DapperDam revealed that an initial audit by a reputable firm had already been conducted, questioning the narrative of who actually owes money. To settle the matter permanently, he challenged the musicians to submit their contracts and financial accounts to a forensic analysis conducted by top-tier auditing and law firms, including KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, Templers, or Olaniwun Ajayi LP.
Closing his statements, DapperDam also refuted claims regarding a recent missed appearance, stating that he attended the event while Shallipopi failed to show up. He rejected assertions that he was evading legal accountability, asserting that the proper formal processes are already underway and that the truth will ultimately be established through official records rather than social media speculation.
