Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker Osinachi Dike, widely known as Sabinus, has strongly criticized how citizens advocating for good governance are treated, questioning why everyday Nigerians are discouraged from speaking out against the nation's pressing challenges.
The content creator voiced his frustrations through a social media post, pointing out a frustrating catch-22 for the populace. According to Sabinus, individuals who actively demand accountability from those in power are frequently told to "mind their business," yet those who choose to remain silent and stay out of public affairs are still met with insults and criticism.
Reflecting on the state of the nation, he questioned when Nigerians will finally set aside their divisions to unite and demand the rights, benefits, and leadership they are owed by authorities.
"A lot is going on in this country and we’re just keeping quiet," Sabinus wrote. "You demand for good governance, they tell you to mind your business. You try to mind your business, they still insult you. When are we going to come as one and demand for what we’re being owed?"
His candid remarks have sparked fresh reactions across social media, adding momentum to ongoing conversations regarding civic duty, citizens' rights, and the collective push for transparency and accountability from Nigerian leaders.
