Indigenous Nigerian rapper CDQ has stirred fresh debate within the hip-hop community after sharing his candid thoughts on colleague Blaqbonez. During a recent appearance on the Faloh Frequency podcast, the veteran artist praised Blaqbonez’s lyricism while pointing out what he believes to be a key drawback in his overall artistic persona.
According to CDQ, Blaqbonez outperforms several respected figures in the industry when it comes to musical technicality and songwriting. He boldly claimed that the hitmaker is lyrically superior to well-established veterans, including Vector, Ice Prince, Reminisce, and Falz.
The rapper didn't stop there—he also waded into the ongoing dynamic and rivalries within the modern Nigerian hip-hop scene, specifically addressing the comparison between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck. While acknowledging Blaqbonez’s superior musical ability, CDQ noted that Odumodublvck possesses a stronger, more commanding presence that gives him an edge.
“Blaqbonez is better than Odumodublvck music-wise, but Odumodublvck edges him when it comes to personality,” CDQ stated during the interview. “Blaqbonez is also better than Falz, Ice Prince, Reminisce and Vector.”
CDQ’s remarks have sparked lively conversations among hip-hop fans online, with many debating the role an artist's personal brand plays alongside raw musical talent in shaping long-term success.
