Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has offered fans a candid look into his career and personal life, revealing that his well-known stage name actually belonged to a friend first. Speaking during a recent interview on the Tea With Tay podcast, the hip-hop star explained that he practically borrowed the moniker while in school because he liked how it sounded. He noted that his friend had coined the name out of a passion for rap culture, but since he wasn't actively pursuing a music career or making use of the title, Blaqbonez simply asked for permission to take it over.
Beyond shedding light on his artistic identity, the rapper also addressed his intense, long-running feud with fellow hip-hop star Odumodublvck. Their complex tension had previously escalated following a high-profile diss track exchange in mid-2025, during which Odumodublvck publicly declared on social media that their conflict went far beyond mere studio banter and rap rivalries, framing it instead as a deeply personal street-level issue.
Clarifying the real trigger behind their bad blood during a conversation with media personality Rufai Oseni, Blaqbonez revealed that the dispute stemmed from a romantic entanglement with a woman they were both seeing at the same time. Setting the record straight on the rivalry, the musician explained that he was completely unaware that Odumodublvck was romantically involved with the same individual at the time, shedding light on the personal misunderstanding that ultimately fueled one of Nigerian hip-hop's most talked-about rivalries.
