Popular disc jockey DJ Salt, sister to Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star Ayra Starr, has taken to Instagram to show off a brand-new Mercedes-Benz, proudly calling the sleek luxury ride her "new toy."
The exciting reveal comes just weeks after the DJ shared a distressing experience in Lagos, where her previous vehicle was vandalized by local street toughs—commonly referred to as agberos or area boys—who mistook her for her famous sister.
Recalling the incident while commenting on a social media post by media personality Tunde Ednut, Salt expressed her frustration over the increasing harassment faced by Lagos motorists. "They damaged my car yesterday, and honestly it was so sad!!! And the fact that they kept shouting Ayra Starr cause they thought I was her, that made it even worse," she shared at the time.
Ednut and several Lagos residents have previously raised concerns over the rising pattern of motorists being accosted, pressured for money, or having their vehicles damaged if they refuse to yield.
While DJ Salt shared photos posing inside and alongside her newly acquired Mercedes-Benz, she has not disclosed whether the vehicle was purchased specifically as a replacement for the damaged car, nor has she revealed the cost of the new ride. Regardless, her latest update has drawn warm congratulations from fans as she moves forward from the troubling incident.
