Afrobeats sensation Shoday is set to transition from the musical stage to the big screen, making his official Nollywood debut in Funke Akindele’s highly anticipated feature film, The Four: No One Fights Alone. Scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on December 11, 2026, the project marks an exciting new chapter for the hitmaker as he joins a star-studded cast helmed by one of African cinema’s most successful filmmakers.
Shoday will share the screen with a powerful ensemble that bridges music and film, including award-winning vocalist Waje. The rest of the star-studded cast features industry heavyweights such as Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan, and Wunmi Toriola, alongside Akindele herself.
The inclusion of Shoday and Waje continues a long-standing tradition of cross-industry collaboration between Nigerian music and film. Akindele has frequently tapped musical talent for her cinematic universe, having previously cast rapper-actor Falz in blockbuster hits like Your Excellency and Everybody Loves Jenifa. The box-office titan has also maintained strong ties with the music world through guest appearances in iconic music videos, ranging from Wizkid’s classic "Pakurumo" to FOLA’s recent hit "EKO."
With The Four, Akindele aims to extend her unparalleled record-breaking streak at the Nigerian box office. Known for dominating the festive season with historic hits like Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa, and Behind The Scenes, the record-breaking director’s latest December release is set to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year.
